Products
Two centuries ago, our New England connected farmhouse housed dairy cows and draft horses in her
barn, and orchards peppered the sloping hills surrounding her. Today she maintains our family, and the livestock and gardens we care for. Keeping with
tradition, our gardens, pastures, livestock, and poultry are pesticide,
antibiotic, and chemical free. We grow with the seasons. Our
product availability changes seasonally. Check back often to see what's

Navajo-Churro Lamb

Navajo-Churros are a dual-purpose breed, producing meat and traditional
fiber for Navajo weaving. The churro is a hardy breed with strong
maternal instincts, a natural parasite resistance, and the ability to thrive on
the weakest of forage. Their inner coat is a fine
fiber, 2 to 4 inches long, and their outer coat consists of coarse, shiny,
hair-like fibers that can grow up to 8 inches long, making it ideal for hand
spinners. The fiber is useful for outer wear, weavings, and rugs. The meat
of the Navajo-Churro is extremely mild, tender, and lean and is prepared by a
USDA certified and licensed handler. Our flock is inspected yearly by the USDA, APHIS Veterinary Services and is Certified Scrapie Free.
We hand shear our Navajo-Churros in late spring, and offer meat and pelts in the early winter. Our churros
are rotationally managed on grass pasture. They are chemical and antibiotic free and are fed the
finest locally grown hay. We supplement our
churros' diet with regionally-grown grains for good weight
gain and fiber health.
Gloucestershire Old Spot, Tamworth cross pigs
Our breeding stock consists of three beautiful
sows, two off a registered Old Spot boar, one out of a Tamworth sow. Both rare breeds are ideal for small farms, with docile temperaments, disease resistance,
and high quality meat. Our pigs are rotationally managed, moving weekly
throughout spring, summer and fall, with the rotation slowing down to every 4
weeks in the winter. The pigs root and renovate our pastures, and their diet is
supplemented with regionally-grown grain and locally produced hay. This is the best
pork you will ever have - superior quality, clean and tasty meat. Always antibiotic and chemical free. Piglets are available in the spring for
you to raise out, or purchase our pork in late fall. All our pork is prepared
by a USDA certified and licensed handler.
Salad Greens
With a
mix of varieties including Rouge de Hiver, Jericho, New York Iceburg, we have
the strongest, healthiest greens around! Depending on the
temperatures, we offer various mustards, romaine, High Mowing Mesclun Mix, and
arugula. Heirloom kales, southern Collards, and rainbow chard are also available.
Did we mention our edible flowers and our garden-fresh herbs? All our vegetable,
flower, and herb gardens are maintained without pesticides or herbicides and
are grown in our own Laszlo's compost blend. Pollination is done by our hard-working
honey bees.
Lard
Farm-raised lard is richer than many other fats and the pastry chef's secret to
extremely tender pastries, crusts, and flaky biscuits. So rich, in fact, that when
substituting lard for butter in baking, you can reduce the amount of fat in the
recipe by 20 to 25 percent. This prized pork product is very limited, and
offered by the quart. Call 978-386-1116 for availability.
Pelts
Our Navajo- churro pelts are tanned by Bucks County Fur Products in
Quakerstown, Pennsylvania. These luxurious pieces make the ideal baby,
wedding, or graduation gift. Available in a wide range of colors, our
pelts average 42 inches long, 30 inches wide and weigh, on average, 4 lbs.
All pelts are machine washable.
